The best answer is the first option. Cortisol is the hormone that narrows arteries to increase blood pressure. It is a response to stress.  Adrenaline, on the other hand, is the hormone that is released also due to stress but its effect is to speed up the heart. Estrogen is not related to stress and is only found in females.

The correct answer is A. Cortisol

Explanation:

Cortisol is a hormone produced in response to stress or in case glucose levels in the blood are low. This hormone differs from other hormones such as adrenaline that is also produced due to stress because cortisol has a direct effect on blood pressure. Indeed, the production of cortisol causes arteries to narrow which makes blood to exert more pressure on blood vessels (high blood pressure). This effect is only temporal as once stress reduces blood pressure goes back to normal. According to this, the hormone that narrows arteries to increase blood pressure is called cortisol.
