Answer:

A) Divergent currents push up part of the plates. Then gravity pulls on those areas, bringing them downward. And, as these areas move lower, the ridges then push the plates away and outward.

Explanation:

The movement of plate tectonics is governed by two forces namely the ridge push and gravitational force. When the hot magma rises due to ridge rush on the spreading sea floor it creates higher elevation when it cools and solidifies.

The divergent movement causes new solidified magma back to the subduction zone due to the gravitational pull. The downward pull of plate motion is prompted by the weight of the older and dense plate material which sinks back at the ocean trenches causing slab pull.

ANTONII [103]

Answer:

1. S wave

2. P wave

3. Surface wave

Explanation:

1-Otherwise known as Slow wave, this kind of wave may travel through rock layers and shear it in a way of right-angles, however it does not propagate in liquids such as oceans or lakes.

2-Also known as the Primary wave, this kind of wave is the fastest to propagate, may travel through solids such as granite mountains and liquids such as bodies of oceans and magma under earth´s crust.

3-Surface waves are limited to being propagated just on surfaces, may move the ground in an S pattern but with no apparent vertical displacement. They may be particularly damaging to infrastructure such as buildings and housing.
