Answer:

d. a single variable.

Explanation:

A controlled experiment is one in which the researcher can can keep all other factors/variables uniform and see the effects of a particular factor/variable on certain subjects.

For example, in order to determine the effects of different light intensities on the growth of a plant species. All the growth conditions will be uniform for all the subjects (the plant species) except the light intensity. Any discrepancy in growth can thus be attributed to the different light intensities.

The light intensity is varied while other factors are kept uniform.

2. Explain what the term "blood shift" means and how it works.
katrin [286]

Answer:

Explanation:

Left shift or blood shift is an increase in the number of immature cell types among the blood cells in a sample of blood.

For all of the above, you can say that blood shift (BS) happens (blood moves from non-vital organs to vital organs) when PV happens, but quite common Freedivers are using the term BS when describing the movement of the blood to the chest cavity to protect it from increasing pressure while diving deep.

A twisted zipper is used as a model of eukaryotic DNA. How could the model be developed to represent DNA replication in eukaryot
san4es73 [151]

Answer:

The model of the DNA can be related to a zipper. Just like the zipper, the two strands of the DNA are joined together by the hydrogen bonds present between the nucleotides. At the time of replication, the coiling of the two strands is undone just as the zipper is open. The two strands of the DNA open and separate just as the two stands of the zipper open and separate. Each strand can give rise to anew strand.

Just as the opening and closing of the zipper can cause damages in the zipper, just like this replication can cause errors in the DNA which lead to mutations.
