Oook

so find total volume capacity of one truck
volume=lenght times widht times height
volume=10 times 15 times 6.5
volume=975 cubic feet per truck

ok, find volume needed for 45 tons

200cubic feet=1ton
times 45 both sides
9000cubic feet=45 tons

ok

n=number of trucks
n times capacity per truck=9000 cubic feet
n times 975=9000
divide both sides by 975
n=9.2whaterver
you can't get 0.2 truck
you have to take all the debris
round up (even though 2<5)
10 trucks

fgiga [73]

Here's the right way:

\dfrac{x}{\frac 3 5} = \dfrac{20}{12}

x = \dfrac{20}{12} \cdot \dfrac{3}{5} = 1

Here's the way they want you to do it:

\dfrac{x}{\frac 3 5} = \dfrac{20}{12}

12 x = 20 \times \dfrac{3}{5} = 12 \textrm{ FIRST BOX}

x = 12/12 = 1 \textrm{ SECOND BOX}
