Put simply, you have to work backwards in making the equations. Start with the product of 8/3 and 9.
\frac{8}{3}*9

 Next take 1/4 of that. This can be done in two ways, either multiplying by 1/4:
(\frac{8}{3}*9)*\frac{1}{4}

, or dividing everything by 4.
(\frac{8}{3}*9)/4

Finally, subtract three.

The final equation would read:
((\frac{8}{3}*9)*\frac{1}{4})-3

Using PE(M/D)(A/S), we'd start with \frac{8}{3}*9

3 and 9 cancel out to be 1 and 3, leaving us with \frac{8}{1}, or 8, and 3 and this part of the equation reading 8*3, which is 24.

The next step is \frac{24}{4}, which is 6.

Lastly we subtract 3 from six, leaving us 3.

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

Order of Operations in Mathematics follow this following rule :

  • Parentheses
  • Exponents
  • Multiplication and Division
  • Addition and Subtraction

This rule is known as the PEMDAS method.

In working on a mathematical problem, we first calculate operation that is in parentheses, follow by exponentiation, then multiplication or division, and finally addition or subtraction.

Let us tackle the problem!

<em>Product of eight thirds and nine</em>

\frac{8}{3} \times 9

<em>One-fourth of the product of eight thirds and nine</em>

\frac{1}{4} \times ( \frac{8}{3} \times 9 )

<em>Three less than one-fourth of the product of eight thirds and nine</em>

\frac{1}{4} \times ( \frac{8}{3} \times 9 ) - 3

= \frac{1}{4} \times ( \frac{8 \times 9}{3} ) - 3

= \frac{1}{4} \times ( \frac{72}{3} ) - 3

= \frac{1}{4} \times 24 - 3

= \frac{1 \times 24}{4} - 3

= \frac{24}{4} - 3

= 6 - 3

= \boxed {3}

-4x + 6 = 3x - 36<br><br> How do I solve this
LekaFEV [45]

Answer:

x = 6

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Write equation

-4x + 6 = 3x - 36

Step 2: Solve for <em>x</em>

  1. Add 4x to both sides: 6 = 7x - 36
  2. Add 36 to both sides: 42 = 7x
  3. Divide both sides by 7: x = 6

Step 3: Check

<em>Plug in x to verify it's a solution.</em>

-4(6) + 6 = 3(6) - 36

-24 + 6 = 18 - 36

-18 = -18

A ladder is leaning against a building as shown in the
JulsSmile [24]

The length of ladder is 30 ft.

<h3>How can the feet that made up the side of the building is the top of the ladder be known ?</h3>

The formula below can be used in solving the problem

Tan (∅)= \frac{opposite}{adajacent}

∅=70°

opposite = BC

Adjacent  = 12 ft

70°= opposite/ 12

opposite= 32.96 ft

Therefore, The length of ladder is 30 ft.

Please help me find the area of this shape
oee [108]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

15 x 7 = 105

The gap is either 9 x 7 =63 or 12 x 7 = 84

105 - 84 = 21

105 - 63 = 42

So the shaded area is either is 21 or 42
