Answer:

Resistance become infinite

Explanation:

In series circuit when switch is closed then a current is flow which is equal to \frac{V}{R}, here V is voltage and R is resistance

But when switch is open then no current is flow in the circuit

So \frac{V}{R}=0, this is possible when resistance become infinite

So when switch is open then resistance of the circuit will become infinite

A car travels 36 km in 30 minutes. The speed of the car is
iogann1982 [59]

Answer:

72km/hr

Explanation:

Speed in Km is usually represented in hours. so if the car is in constant velocity, and if the car travels 36km in 30 min then it travels 72km in 1 hour.

so the speed of the car is 72km/hr

How many joules of gravitational potential energy does a person have after they went up stairs that are 10 meters tall? Assume t
Sonja [21]

Answer:

P = 5880 J

Explanation:

Given that,

The mass of a person, m = 60 kg

The height of the stairs, h = 10 m

We need to find the gravitational potential energy of the person. The formula is as follows :

P=mgh

Substitute all the values,

P=60\times 9.8\times 10\\\\P=5880\ J

So, the required gravitational potential energy is equal to 5880 J.

a car accelerates uniformly from rest to a speed of 65 km/h (18 m/s) in 12s. Find the distance the car travels during this time?
Vinil7 [7]

The car's speed was zero at the beginning of the 12 seconds,
and 18 m/s at the end of it.  Since the acceleration was 'uniform'
during that time, the car's average speed was (1/2)(0 + 18) = 9 m/s.

12 seconds at an average speed of 9 m/s  ==>  (12 x 9) = 108 meters .

==========================================

That's the way I like to brain it out.  If you prefer to use the formula,
the first problem you run into is:  You need to remember the formula !

The formula is        D = 1/2 a T²

                   Distance = (1/2 acceleration) x (time in seconds)²

             Acceleration = (change in speed) / (time for the change)
                                  =        (18 m/s)            /        (12 sec)
                                  =                      1.5 m/s² .

                  Distance  =  (1/2 x 1.5 m/s²) x (12 sec)²
                                  =       (0.75 m/s²)  x  (144 sec²)  =  108 meters .
