Engineering controls are possible interventions intended to reduce worker exposure to biological,chemical and physical agents. They are divided into two categories, ventilation and non-ventilation controls. Ventilation controls are designed to control contaminants once released,like introducing clean air to a workplace, replacing contaminated air. Non-ventilation controls reduce process emission rate, like use of well fitting lids to liquid containers.
