I believe the proper way to find the surface area of a sphere is 4 times 3.14 (which is Pi) times the radius squared. Or 4(3.14)*r^2.

Where I found 804.25

What is the value of k?
Molodets [167]

Answer:

( {x}^{2}  + 16x + 64) - (x + 8)(x - 4) = k(x + 8) \\ ( {x + 8)}^{2}  - (x + 8)(x - 4) = k(x + 8) \\ (x + 8) - (x - 4) = k \\ k = (x - x) + (8 + 4) \\ k = 12

A taxicab charges $3.00 per person
Delicious77 [7]

Answer:

I believe the answer would be 20 miles max for one passenger.

Step-by-step explanation:

This is because if you create an equation out of this, knowing that only one passenger will be riding, you will get:

$3.00+$1.25x=$28       ($3 added too $1.25 times the number of miles (x) which equals the total amount you have ($28)).

x being the number of miles (so we need to calculate for x)

$3 + $1.25x = $28

-subtract 3 on both sides-

$1.25x=$28-$3

$1.25x=$25

-divide by 1.25 on both sides-

x=$25/$1.25

x=20 miles

Not sure if all calculations are correct, but I hope this helps :)!

What is 575% written as a mixed number?
pav-90 [236]

<u><em>Answer:</em></u>

575% as a mixed number is 5\frac{3}{4}

<u><em>Explanation:</em></u>

575% is equivalent to \frac{575}{100} which is equal to 5.75

5.75 = 5 + 0.75

0.75 can be written as \frac{75}{100}. This value can be simplified by dividing both the numerator and the denominator by 25. This would give us \frac{3}{4}

<u>Back to our number:</u>

5.75 = 5 + 0.75 = 5 + \frac{75}{100} = 5 + \frac{3}{4} = 5\frac{3}{4}

Hope this helps :)

What is the area of triangle pqr on the grid? a triangle pqr is shown on a grid. the vertex p is on ordered pair 7 and 6, vertex
horsena [70]

P(7,6), Q(1,6), R(4,2)

We have PQ parallel to the x axis. We'll call that the base,

b = 7 - 1 = 6

The altitude is then the y difference h = 6 - 2 = 4

The area is \frac 1 2 bh = \frac 1 2 (6)(4) = 12

Answer: 12 square units

In general we can use the shoelace formula for the area of any polygon given coordinates. We write the points like this:

(7,6), (1,6), (4,2)

(1,6), (4,2), (7,6)

The area is then half the absolute value of the sum of the cross products:

A = \frac 1 2 | 7(6)-6(1) + 1(2)-6(4) + 4(6)-2(7) | = \frac 1 2 |24| = 12
