Why doesn’t every meteor become a meteorite?
Ahat [919]

Answer:

Not every meteor becomes a meteorite because - B) Many meteors break apart due to Earth’s atmosphere before hitting Earth.

Explanation:

Before a small piece of an asteroid or a comet enters Earth’s atmosphere, it is called a meteoroid. When it enters Earth’s atmosphere at high speed, it lits up because of the friction caused by particles in the atmosphere and thus it becomes a meteor. When meteor survives and reaches the ground, it becomes a meteorite.

If you look at the night sky and see a falling star, you might be seeing a meteor that burns and never reaches the ground.
