Which observation led researchers to propose that chloroplasts evolved from Cyanobacteria ?

The theory that claims that, mitochondria and chloroplast's origin is bacterias, is called the endosymbiotic theory. It suggest that, plastids (one of them is chloroplast) and mitochondria were once, bacterias, and about 1.5 billions year ago they started to live with (inside) the pre-eukaryotic orgamisms. This is called endosymbiosis. The chloroplast originates from the cyanobacterias and the mitochondria from the proteobacterias. The some evidences that support this theory are these : -Mitochondria and chloroplast are formed with binary fission (the way bacterias reproduce) -When you remove a cell's mitochondria or it's chloroplast it can not produce them by itself. -Mitochondria and chloroplast have their own ribosomes (which produces protein) and they are smaller than the cell's own ribosomes, their ribosomes are similar to bacterias

Select the best description of adaptations, below.
hram777 [196]

Answer: b

An inherited modification of structure or function that allows an organism to survive and reproduce in its environment.

Explanation:

Adaptation helps an organism to become better suited to survive and reproduce in its environment. It is change in an organism's structure or behavior.

Change in physical features of an organism is considered as structural adaptation. Example- fur in bear

Change in the way an organism does things to survive is called behavioral adaptation. Example- bird calls and migration from one place to another.

Adaptation is an essential feature that helps an organism to better servive in the environment. In case, an organism fails to adapt to changes in its environment, its immune system becomes weak and fails to work. This threatens its life and it becomes ill. This may also result in its death.

PLEASE HELP ME <br> What are the steps to photosynthesis
RoseWind [281]

Explanation:

During photosynthesis, molecules in leaves capture sunlight and energize electrons, which are then stored in the covalent bonds of carbohydrate molecules. That energy within those covalent bonds will be released when they are broken during cell respiration. How long lasting and stable are those covalent bonds? The energy extracted today by the burning of coal and petroleum products represents sunlight energy captured and stored by photosynthesis almost 200 million years ago.

Plants, algae, and a group of bacteria called cyanobacteria are the only organisms capable of performing photosynthesis. Because they use light to manufacture their own food, they are called photoautotrophs (“self-feeders using light”). Other organisms, such as animals, fungi, and most other bacteria, are termed heterotrophs (“other feeders”) because they must rely on the sugars produced by photosynthetic organisms for their energy needs. A third very interesting group of bacteria synthesize sugars, not by using sunlight’s energy, but by extracting energy from inorganic chemical compounds; hence, they are referred to as chemoautotrophs.

Which statement about infiltration is TRUE? Group of answer choices groundwater is an unsafe (dangerous) source of water not mea
weeeeeb [17]

Answer: Groundwater can remain in subsurface storage for long periods of time.

Explanation:

The ground water is the water reservoir that gets accumulated beneath the earth crust due to the accumulation of water that seeps into the soil and rock due to the absorption by water bodies river, lakes, ponds, oceans, and rain or any kind of precipitation. The groundwater remains as a subsurface storage of water until the site of groundwater is searched and water is extracted from it for household, agricultural or industrial purposes.
