Let x be the amount of quarters
Let y be the amount of dimes

X + 8 = y

Y + x = 2.80

Substitute

Y * x = 2.80

(X+8) + x = 2.80

2x = -6.80
x = -3.40

See this doesnr make sense
Because there cant be a negative amount of dimes
