Backpackers often use canisters of white gas to fuel a cooking stove’s burner. If one canister contains 1.45 L of white gas, and
rusak2 [61]
1 L ------- 1000 cm³
1.45 L ----- ???

1.45 * 1000 = 1450 cm³  ( volume )

Density = 0.710 g/cm³

mass =  in Kg

m = D * V

m = 0.710  * 1450

m = 1029.5 g

1 Kg ------- 1000 g
   kg -------- 1029.5 g

mass = 1029.5 / 1000

mass = 1.0295 Kg

hope this helps!

The polar isopropanol molecules are attracted to
Sergio [31]

When water (H2O) is added to liquid isopropanol to form a solution, then polar isopropanol molecules are attracted to polar water molecules at the surface of the water. It forms a solution of rubbing alcohol.

Isopropanol and water in the solution

Isopropyl alcohol is water-soluble and forms hydrogen bonds with molecules of water (H2O).

When H2O is added to liquid isopropanol to form a solution, H2O spread in a uniform way in the solution.

These isopropanol molecules can surround H2O molecules, which are carried into the solution.

Chromium has a smaller atomic radius than iron. *
O
True
False
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]

Answer:

False

Explanation:

Atomic radius is defined as the distance between the nuclei of 2 identical atoms that are bonded together

Now, from periodic tables, chromium has a calculated atomic radius of 1.66 Å while iron has a calculated atomic radius of 1.56 Å

Thus, chromium has a bigger atomic radius than iron.

So the statement is false.

Why do city water departments first remove dissolved organic substances before disinfecting with chlorine?
alukav5142 [94]
Dissolved organic substance present in natural water is a complex mixture compounds and contains most of the reduced carbon present in aquatic ecosytem . this can not be easily treated or disinfected by the conventional treatment . the experiments show that water sample with higher dissolved substance need higher cholrine demand  . this is the reason that before disinfecting with chlorine ..... need to remove organic substance {{{    because it increase chlorine demand }}}
