1. Answer is 14.

you first do 8x6 cause of BEDMAS, which is 48. then subtract 12, which gives you 36. then subtract 36 from 50 because 50 is the total amount it should be on both sides.

50 - 36 = 14

2. Answer is 8

5x3 is 15, + 2 is 17. then 20 - 17 gives you 3. you then have 24 divided by a number, and that number is 8 because 24 divided by 8 gives you three

The altitude of an equilateral triangle is 5 cm. what is the length of a side of the triangle?
Grace [21]

Answer:

The length side of the triangle is \frac{10\sqrt{3}}{3}\ cm

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The equilateral triangle has three equal sides and three equal internal angles of measure of 60 degrees each.

Let

b------> the length side of the equilateral triangle

Applying Pythagoras theorem

b^{2}=(b/2)^{2}+5^{2}\\\\ b^{2}-(b/2)^{2}=25\\\\ (3/4)b^{2}=25\\ \\b^{2} =25*4/3\\ \\b=\frac{10}{\sqrt{3}}\ cm\\ \\b=\frac{10\sqrt{3}}{3}\ cm

The scale on a map shows that 1 cm equals 10km if the distance between 2 cities on the map is 4.5 cm how far is the actual dista
ikadub [295]

Answer:

45 km

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's review the scale factor of this problem.

1 cm = 10 km

This means that for every 1 cm of distance on the map, 10 km is represented in the real world. Because of this, we know that dividing the actual distance by 10 will give us the distance on the map.

Ex. 40 km in real world = 4 cm on map

So, we will use d to represent the actual distance.

d=distance in real world

Then, we will divide d by 10 and set it equal to 4.5, because that's the distance on the map.

d/10 = 4.5

Now to solve this equation, we just have to multiply both sides by 10.

d=45

This is your answer.
