Nicolás Machiavelli was a diplomat, civil servant, political philosopher and Italian writer, considered father of modern Political Science. He was also a relevant figure of the Italian Renaissance. His thinking translates the philosophical tradition of ancient political thought in which political practice is overshadowed by the idealization of governments and utopian cities.

Machiavelli states that the actual exercise of politics involves real situations with real men and peoples, whose behavior, decisions and actions, usually do not necessarily respond to morality but to the laws of power

Niccolo Machiavelli was an Italian diplomat, politician, philosopher and writer. He lived during the Renaissance period. He is often called the "father" of modern political science. He served as an official in the Florentine Republic for many years.

His most famous work is titled "The Prince" and was wrote in 1513. Here, Machiavelli describes dishonesty, immoral behavior and the killing of innocent people as being effective tools in politics and encourages the reader to act under these principles whenever it is needed.

The only answer I found was: The ancient Chinese kings maintained control of their dynasties throguh military means.

You probably go to connections accademy. I do too.

This question is in the Journey Across Time text book on page 231. The answer is on pages 225 - 231.

Besides the two answers above me, I managed to find a reasonable answer:

"Rulers became powerful because they controlled land and had strong armies."

This is all I could find, hope this benefits others who wonder what the answer is!

Explanation:

Aurangzeb did not respect his father and also throwed him to prison. Akbar was the third successor of the Bhabur the founder of the Mughal dynasty. Aurangzeb was the great grand son of Akbar and son of Shah jahan. Akabar did respected his parents and his Dynast and promoted the growth of his Dydnasty. He was one of the main reason why Mughal empire lost it’s power. Thus aurangzeb is totaly different from akbar. Mughal rulers', Akbar and Aurangzeb, policies were motivated by religious fluidity by Akbar who created a diverse, accepting, and highly successful empire while Aurangzeb's religious rigidity was the downfall of the Mughals. Akbar was very against having one religion in charge, eliminated the Jizya, made Persian the official language, established the Ibadat Khana and the Divine Faith in Fatehpur, combined religions. Aurangzeb returned to religious orthodoxy and reestablished the Jizya, resulted in revolts of sikhs and hindus and ultimately led to the downfall of the empire.
