Answer:

The correct answer option is C. Graph Z.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that a cereal company finds that the more it spends on advertising, the more boxes of cereal it sells.

It means that the advertising is directly proportional to the number of boxes of cereal sold.

Therefore, the sales of the cereal company can be represented by graph Z where the value of y increases as the value of x increases.

Hello there!

In this problem, it says the more it advertises, the more it sells. In this case then, C. Graph Z, would be your answer since it shows the increase of both

Explain how to evaluate f(g(0)).
alekssr [168]

Answer as a fraction: 17/6

Answer in decimal form: 2.8333 (approximate)

==================================================

Work Shown:

Let's use the two black points to determine the equation of the red f(x) line.

Use the slope formula to get...

m = slope

m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

m = (4-0.5)/(2-(-1))

m = (4-0.5)/(2+1)

m = 3.5/3

m = 35/30

m = (5*7)/(5*6)

m = 7/6

Now use the point slope form

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y - 0.5 = (7/6)(x - (-1))

y - 0.5 = (7/6)(x + 1)

y - 0.5 = (7/6)x + 7/6

y = (7/6)x + 7/6 + 0.5

y = (7/6)x + 7/6 + 1/2

y = (7/6)x + 7/6 + 3/6

y = (7/6)x + 10/6

y = (7/6)x + 5/3

So,

f(x) = (7/6)x + 5/3

We'll use this later.

---------------------

We ultimately want to compute f(g(0))

Let's find g(0) first.

g(0) = 1 since the point (0,1) is on the g(x) graph

We then go from f(g(0)) to f(1). We replace g(0) with 1 since they are the same value.

We now use the f(x) function we computed earlier

f(x) = (7/6)x + 5/3

f(1) = (7/6)(1) + 5/3

f(1) = 7/6 + 5/3

f(1) = 7/6 + 10/6

f(1) = 17/6

f(1) = 2.8333 (approximate)

This ultimately means,

f(g(0)) = 17/6 as a fraction

f(g(0)) = 2.8333 as a decimal approximation

Maya spent her allowance on playing an arcade game a few times and riding the Ferris wheel more than once.
goldfiish [28.3K]
To write a two-variable equation, you would first need to know how much Maya’s allowance was. Then, you would need the cost of playing the arcade game and of riding the Ferris wheel. You could let the equation be cost of playing the arcade games plus cost of riding the Ferris wheel equals the total allowance. Your variables would represent the number of times Maya played the arcade game and the number of times she rode the Ferris wheel. With this equation you could solve for how many times she rode the Ferris wheel given the number of times she played the arcade game.

Alright, so for AB and CD to be parallel, CX and DX would have to be equal, as is with AX and BX. In addition, for CD and AB to be parallel, all sides in both triangles are either equal or not all sides in even one triangle are equal. Therefore, CD is not 3. In addition, two sides of a triangle combined must be greater than the third, so that leaves 5, 4, and 2 for CD. If it was 5, that would mean that all sides are equal, so that leaves 4 and 2. However, I don't see anything to prove either one right, sorry:/
