The four consecutive odd integers are x, x+2, x+4, x+6
x+x+2+x+4+x+6=216
4x+12=216
4x=204
x=51
they are 51, 53, 55, 57

So what you want to say is 216/4, to find 1/4 of 216. 216 / 4 = 54

So you know that therefore, since 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 = 1, 54 + 54 + 54 + 54 must equal 216.

So basically what you can say is,

x - 3 + x - 1 + x + 1 + x + 3 = 216

This would make them consecutive odd integers, but since the addition and subtractions cancel out, it would still make it equivalent.

Or basically:

(54 - 3) + (54 - 1) + (54 + 1) + (54 + 3) = 216

51 + 53 + 55 + 57

Those four integers would add up to 216, and would therefore be the four consecutive odd integers.

You want to make a rectangular banner that is 18ft. Long with a trim around the entire border of the banner . You have no more t
lys-0071 [83]

Answer:

6 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Length of rectangular banner = 18 ft

Total trim of banner available = 48 ft

To find:

Possible widths of the banner = ?

Solution:

Maximum trim available of the banner around the entire border of the banner = 48 ft

i.e. we are given the total perimeter of the rectangular banner.

Formula for perimeter of a rectangle is given as:

Perimeter = 2 \times (Length + Width)

Putting the values of perimeter and length to find the value of width.

48 = 2 \times (18 + Width)\\\Rightarrow 48 =36+2 \times Width\\\Rightarrow 2 \times Width = 48-36\\\Rightarrow 2 \times Width = 12\\\Rightarrow \bold{Width = 6\ ft}

So, width possible is <em>6ft.</em>

Harlamova29_29 [7]

Answer:

a) x = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: 2x + 3 = 5

1. Subtract 3 from both sides:

2x + 3 - 3 = 5 - 3

⟹ 2x = 2

2. Divide both sides by 2:

2x ÷ 2 = 2 ÷ 2

⟹ x = 1

3. Check your work:

2(1) + 3 = 5

2 + 3 = 5

⟹ 5 = 5 ✔

love history [14]

Answer:

3000 feets

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that :

Initial Ascent to steady altitude = 35,000 feets

Descent to steady altitude = 32,000 feets

Number of feets the plane descend :

(Initial ascent to steady altitude - descent to steady altitude)

(35000 - 32000) feets = 3,000 feets
