Set up an equation. Make the length x and you can make the width x-5. In order to fir the width is 5 feet smaller than the length. Now the formula for area is length times width. So plug in what you know.
x(x-5)=14 distribute the x
X^2-5x=14 move the 14 over
X^2-5x-14=0 use factoring to figure out
(X-7)(X+2)=0
Now x can equal 7 and negative 2
Since the length cannot be negative we get rid of negative 2
So we have x equals 7 plug that in. We get length =7 and width =2

Hello There!

Area = l x w
14 = x * x - 5
Multiples of 14:
1 and 14
7 and 2
7 and 2 are the only ones with a difference of 5.

Therefore, the length is 7ft and the width is 2ft.

Hope This Helps You!
Good Luck :)

The following points for a function are graphed in the coordinate plane: (0, 4), (1, 5), (2, 6), and (3, 7).What function is bei
Alexxx [7]

Answer:

The correct answer is

y=x+4

Explanation:

We are given the points:

(0, 4)

(1, 5)

(2, 6)

(3, 7)

We can see that for each unit that x-coordinate grows, the y-coordinate also grows one.

This means that the slope of the line is m = 1

The first point given, tell us the y-intercept: (0, 4)

The slope-intercept form of a line is:

y=mx+b

Where m is the slope and b the y-intercept.

For the points given:

m = 1

b = 4

Thus:

y=1\cdot x+4=x+4

Alika [10]

Answer: y = 20x+75

Step-by-step explanation:

Hi, to answer this question we have to write an equation:

The cost (y) must be equal to the product of the cost per hour of installation (20) and the number of hours that it takes (x); plus the fixed cost of parts and installation (75).

Mathematically speaking:

y = 20x+75

Drag values to order them from least to greatest, with least at the top.
GenaCL600 [577]
To solve this problem you must apply the proccedure shown below:

 1- You must rewrite each value shown in the picture attached, in decimal form, as following:

 6π-6=12.84
 π^3=31
 √99=9.94

 2- Now, you can order the values from least to greatest:

 √99
 6π-6
 π^3

 The answer is:

 √99
 6π-6
 π^3
