We know that
perimeter of a rectangular shape=2*[length +wide]
in this problem
length=245 in
wide=234 in
so
perimeter=2*[245+234]-----> 958 in

the answer Part a) is
Rhiannon needs to purchase 958 in of fringe

Part b) Rihannon gets a new bedspread that is 33 in longer. What length of the fringe does rhiannon need for the longer bedspread?

the new perimeter=original perimeter+2*33----> 958+66----> 1024 in

the answer Part b) is
Rhiannon needs 1024 in for the longer bedspread

Neglecting air resistance and the weight of the propellant, determine the work done in propelling a four-ton satellite to the fo
balandron [24]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Work = force × distance

force = mass × acceleartion due to gravity

a four ton satellite will have a force of 4× 1000 ×10 = 40KN (1000Kg = 1 ton)

1 mile = 1609.34 metre

therefore (a) 100 miles above the earth

work = 40000 × 100×1609.34

= 6437360000J

=6.4GJ

(b) 300 miles above the earth

work = 40000×300×1609.34

= 1.93×10¹⁰ J

If a right triangle has a hypotenuse of length 20 units and one leg of length 16 units, find the length of the other leg. A. 12
xxTIMURxx [149]

Answer:

12

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the Pythagorean theorem which is a^2 + b^2 = c^2

c is hypotenuse and a and b are the legs

we need to find a^2 so

a^2 + 16^2 = 20^2

a^22 + 256 = 400

then subtract 256 from 400

a^2 = 144

square root 144

= 12
