A= 1/2(40)(40)
A= 800

Area of a rectangle is
A= length times height
A= 10 times 30 = 300
Then subtract 800-300= 500 Area shaded

H: 40 m
L: 40 m

Finding the are of the rectangle 

H: 10
L: 30

30 × 10= 300

1600 + 300= 480,000
