President Reagan’s ""Peace through Strength"" is most similar to which earlier presidential policy?
sweet-ann [11.9K]

The policy by Reagan of "Peace through Strength" is similar to the Big Stick ideology of President Theodore Roosevelt.

What did "Peace through Strength" mean?

This was a policy by Reagan that called for building the American military so that peace would be achieved when other nations like the Soviet Union would be too scared to attack American military might.

This was similar to the Big Stick ideology by Roosevelt which called for having a strong military when negotiating with others so that they don't try to attack the U.S.

The Intolerable Acts, please give the year they were passed, explain what they did, then why the colonists were opposed to them.
Gemiola [76]

The Intolerable Acts were five laws that were passed by the British Parliament against the American Colonies in 1774.

How did they get their name?

They were given the name "Intolerable Acts" by American Patriots who felt they simply could not "tolerate" such unfair laws.

Why did Britain impose these new acts?

The British passed these acts as punishment for the Boston Tea Party.

The British thought the acts would help to maintain control in America, but they had the opposite effect causing many people to firmly join the side of the rebels.
