Answer: x^2+2x+1=36

Step-by-step explanation:

x^2+2x-35=0

add 35 on both sides.

x^2+2x-35+35=0+35

x^2+2x=35

take the value of b (2) divide it by 2 and square it.

x^2+2x+(\frac{b}{2})^2 =35+(\frac{b}{2})^2

x^2+2x+(\frac{2}{2})^2 =35+(\frac{2}{2})^2

x^2+2x+(1)^2=35+(1)^2\\x^2+2x+1=35+1\\x^2+2x+1=36

Evaluate using exact values 1-cos45/1+cos45
Lisa [10]
Knowing that cos(45°) = 1/√2 is the way forward.

\frac{1-\frac{1}{\sqrt{2}} }{1+\frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}} = \frac{\sqrt{2}-1}{\sqrt{2}+1} = 3 - 2\sqrt{2}

The last step in the equation may not be obious, but the trick here is to multiple numerator and denominator with (1-√2), then the denominator has the special product (a+b)(a-b) = a²-b².
