To solve this, we need to divide the fractions. 

When dividing fractions, you multiply the first fraction by the reciprocal of the second fraction. The reciprocal is a flipped fraction. So the reciprocal of 1/2 is 2/1.

\frac{7}{8} * \frac{4}{1}
\frac{28}{8}

\frac{28}{8} can be simplified to

\frac{7}{2},
3 \frac{1}{2},
or 3.5.
