Let’s assume the number is x.
Three times a number is 3 x = 3x
So six less than three times a number = 3x - 6
Twice the number = 2x
Five more than twice the number = 2x + 5

3x – 6 = 2x + 5
3x -2x = 5 + 6
x = 11
