The answer is Thickness of solution.

The Beer-Lambert Law equation has the following form:

A=E×b×c

Where A is absorbance, E <span>is the molar absorbtivity, </span>b is the path length of the sample and c <span>is the concentration of the compound in solution.
</span>
<span>Lamber-Ber's law shows that the absorbance of a solution is directly proportional to the concentration of the species to be absorbed, as well as the length of the path. For example, if the length of the path is constant, the UV / VIS spectroscopy can be used to determine the concentration of the absorbent substance in the solution.</span>

In the Beer-Lambert Law equation, “b” represents\boxed{{\text{thickness of solution}}}.

Further explanation:

Spectrophotometry is a method that is applied for measurement of absorbance of light in terms of intensity of light when light is allowed to pass through the solution sample. Spectrophotometer is the equipment or instrument that is employed for this purpose.

Beer-Lambert’s Law:

This law describes the relationship of absorbance with concentration and path length of solution. According to this law, absorbance of any solution is directly related to its concentration and optical path length. The expression for Lambert-Beer’s law is as follows:

{\text{A}} = {{\varepsilon bc}}                                                                          …... (1)

Where,

A is absorbance of species.

{{\varepsilon }}  is molar absorptivity of species.

b is optical path length or thickness of solution.

c is concentration of species.

If graph is plotted between absorption and concentration of solution, a straight line or linear graph is observed. But this linearity is lost at extremely high concentrations. This non-linearity can be due to several factors. Some of these include use of non-monochromatic radiations, scattering of light, phosphorescence or fluorescence of sample.

According to equation (1),“b” represents the thickness of the solution.

If the mass of a block of wood is 4.6g and the density is 0.98g/mL what is the volume.
irina [24]

Answer:

The answer is

<h2>4.69 mL</h2>

Explanation:

The volume of a substance when given the density and mass can be found by using the formula

volume =  \frac{mass}{density}  \\

From the question

mass of wood = 4.6 g

density = 0.98 g/mL

It's volume is

volume =  \frac{4.6}{0.98}  \\  = 4.69387755...

We have the final answer as

<h3>4.69 mL</h3>

Hope this helps you
