Answer:

2.9 is the initial pH of the analyte solution.

Explanation:

The dissociation constant of acetic acid as per theoretical value =  K_a

K_a=10^{-4.756}=1.8\times 10^{-5}

The initial concentration of acetic acid = c = 0.0900 M

HAc\rightleftharpoons Ac^-+H^+

initially

c       0    0

At equilibrium

(c-x)      x  x

The expression of dissociation constant :

K_a=\frac{[Ac^-][H^+]}{[HAc]}

1.8\times 10^{-5}=\frac{x\times x}{(c-x)}

1.8\times 10^{-5}=\frac{x\times x}{(0.0900-x)}

Solving for x:

x = 0.001264 M

[H^+]=0.001264 M

The pH of the solution :

pH=-\log[0.001264]=2.898\approx 2.9

2.9 is the initial pH of the analyte solution.

A sample compound contains 9.11 g Ni and 5.89g F. What is the empirical formula of this compound?
Alexxx [7]

The empirical formula of the compound is C. NiF₂.

<em>Step 1</em>. Calculate the <em>moles of each element</em>

The empirical formula is the simplest whole-number ratio of atoms in a compound.

The ratio of atoms is the same as the ratio of moles.

So, our job is to calculate the molar ratio of Ni to F.

Moles of Ni = 9.11 g Ni × (1 mol Ni /(58.69 g Ni) = 0.1552 mol Ni

Moles of F = 5.89 g F × (1 mol F/19.00 g F) = 0.3100 mol F

<em>Step 2</em>. Calculate the <em>molar ratio</em> of the elements

Divide each number by the smallest number of moles

Ni:F = 0.1552:0.3100 = 1:1.997 ≈ 1:2

<em>Step 3</em>: Write the <em>empirical formula</em>

EF = NiF₂

Which statement gives a disadvantage of multicellular organisms?
dexar [7]

Answer: B. They reproduce slower than unicellular organisms

Explanation:

In unicellular organisms there is a single cell which performs all the functions like digestion, respiration, and reproduction. The cell reproduce by cell division. The single parent cell divides into two identical daughter cells. But multicellular organisms exhibit multiple cells and their reproduction is complex. They reproduce by sexual mode of reproduction in which separate sex cells are produced when they fuse form zygote which is the precursor of new organism. This process is slower than that of the cell division and production of progeny by the unicellular organisms. Thus reproduction is slower in multicellular organism this is the disadvantage in multicellular organisms.

Calculate the number of atoms in a 1.94 x 10^3 g sample of calcium
34kurt
n =  \frac{m}{M}

n =  \frac{1.94*10^3}{40.08}

n = 48.40 mol

Then,

N = n*Na
N = 48.40*6.02*10^{23}
N= 2.94*10^{25} atoms

Hope this helps !
