Answer:

Jamal's age = 2×x+12= 2x+12

sum og ages = 45

2x+12+x= 45

=3x+12=45

=45-12= 3x

= 32=3x

x= 32/3= 10.67

2x+13 =21.34+12= 33.34

Look at the table to answer the question.
Alexus [3.1K]

Answer:

Your power function is  y=-2x^{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

The way I found it was.

0=0,  so, the function multiply by zero, and have no other term to add

A number (one in a case) gives as a result: -2.  So, one, elevated to ANY power results in one, every time. So, I have 1, as a factor and -2 as a result. One is as well a factor that delivers a result equal to the other factor. (3)(1)=3 , (8987)(1)=8987. So, the other factor must be -2

Then I checked all the table, and the results were consistent.

Hi I really need help with this question please,
Mrrafil [7]

Answer:

{ ( \sqrt{30 - x} )}^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  \\ 30 - x =  {x}^{2}  \\  \\  {x}^{2}   +  x - 30 = 0 \\ delta = 1 - 4 \times ( - 30) \times 1 = 121 \\ x1 =  \frac{ - 1 +  \sqrt{121} }{2 \times 1}  =  \frac{ - 1 + 11}{2}  = 5 \\ x2 =  \frac{ - 1  -   \sqrt{121} }{2 \times 1}  =  \frac{ - 1  -  11}{2}  =  - 6 \\

Jerry has a miniature model of a boat. He knows that the boat is 3 3/4 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches long. What is the actual len
FromTheMoon [43]

Width of the miniature model = 3\frac{3}{4} inches

Length of the miniature model = 5\frac{1}{2} inches

The actual width of the boat = 15 feet

Let us find the actual length of the boat.

Write it in a proportion form.

width of model : length of model : : width of actual : length of actual

$\Rightarrow 3\frac{3}{4}:5\frac{1}{2}::15:x

$\Rightarrow\frac{15}{4}:\frac{11}{2}::15:x

$\Rightarrow\frac{\frac{15}{4}}{\frac{11}{2}} =\frac{15}{x}

Do cross multiplication.

$\Rightarrow{\frac{15}{4}x =15\times\frac{11}{2}

$\Rightarrow{\frac{15}{4}x =\frac{165}{2}

$\Rightarrow x =\frac{165}{2}\times{\frac{4}{15}

⇒ x = 22

Hence the actual length of the boat is 22 feet.
