Are there moles of stars in the universe?
Natalka [10]

Answer:

Yes, a mole is defined as 6x1023 of something, so a mole of stars is 6x1023 stars. If we compare this number to our estimate of the total number of stars, we find that there is about 1/10 of a mole of stars in the Universe.

Hope this helps!

What is the molar mass of CHCl3?
48.47 g/mol
83.92 g/mol
119.37 g/mol
121.39 g/mol
kolbaska11 [484]

119.37 g/mol

Further explanation

Relative atomic mass (Ar) and relative molecular mass / molar mass (M)

the molar mass/molecular mass of a compound : the sum of the relative atomic mass (Ar) of the constituent atoms

M AxBy = (x.Ar A + y. Ar B)

Atomic weight (Ar) of :

  • C : 12.0107 g/mol
  • H : 1.00784 g/mol
  • Cl : 35.453 g/mol

The molar mass of CHCl₃

\tt CHCl_3=12.0107+1,00784+(35,453\times 3)=119.37~g/mol

Why can't 1−methylcyclohexanol be prepared from a carbonyl compound by reduction? select the single best answer?
forsale [732]
1−methylcyclohexanol is a tertiary alcohol. Tertiary Alcohols are synthesized by either reacting Ketone with Organometallic compounds like Grignard reagent or by hydration of substituted alkenes. 1−methylcyclohexanol can not be synthesized by reduction of carbonyl compound because it is not possible to have a starting carbonyl compound having carbonyl group along with three other alkyl groups (as carbon can only form 4 bonds).

Result:
Tertiary alcohols don't contain a hydrogen atom at carbon attached to hydroxyl group that is why it is not possible to synthesize 1−methylcyclohexanol by reduction of carbonyl compound.
