Answer: The correct answer is  23 from the mother and 23 from the father.

A child inherits 50% of the genetic material from each parent. Human beings are diploid organisms as pair of each chromosome is present in their cells ( except sex chromosome in males). They contain 46 chromosomes.

For reproduction, gametogenesis takes place, during which sex cells ( sperms in males and egg in female) These cells are produced by the process of reductional cell divsion, which is called as meiosis. Thus, sex cells conatin 23 chromosomes.

Parents pass their chromosomes to child via these sex cells.

Thus, a child inherits 23 chromosomes from the mother and 23 chromosomes from the father.

List two ways in which the biosphere would be impacted in the absence of the geosphere. Use complete sentences.
OLEGan [10]
<span>The biosphere is simply "life on Earth"—the sum total, that is, of all living things on Earth. Yet the whole is more than the sum of the parts: not only is the biosphere an integrated system whose many components fit together in complex ways, but it also works, in turn, in concert with the other major earth systems.  These and many other interactions make it easy to see why scientists speak of Earth as a system—and why some go even further and call it a living thing.

Why is there no conclusive evidence that there is a specific amount of alcohol a pregnant woman can drink without causing harmfu
Katarina [22]
To perform such a study would be unethical within an experimental setting. With clinical interviews, the researcher must consider the cohort effect of an untruthful answer from a participant that has engaged in alcohol during pregnancy. With naturalist or structured observations, the informed consent of the participant and privacy would be at stake. Additionally, research must performed be performed with beneficial intentions. While we have precedent set by Fetal Alcohol Syndrome cases, the determination of a percise amount of alcohol safe to drink during pregnancy violates ethical and safety concerns for baby. While most use their own digression, the safest advice healthcare workers can give to a pregnant woman is that; no amount of alcohol can be constituted as a safe amount.
