Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

x = 1/2 (1 +\- i sqrt(23))

Discussion:

x \3x - 2 =   (x/3)*x - 2   =  (x^2)/3 - 2     (*)

1 \3x - 4   =  (1/3)x - 4                               (**)

(*) = (**)   =>

(x^2)/3 -2 = (1/3)x - 4        => multiply both sides by 3

x^2 - 6 = x - 12                 => subtract x from both sides

x^2 -x -6 = -12                   => add 12 to both sides

x^2-x +6  = 0

Using the quadratic formula gives:

x = 1/2 (1 +\- i sqrt(23))

Thank you,

MrB

You want to go to the skate park, and you have two options:
Tcecarenko [31]

Answer:

See Explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Define the variables

Let the entry fee be c and the hourly rate be m

Let the number of hours be x and the total amount be y

Work to solve

For Sami's skate

c = 6 and m = 2

For Brad's skate

c =10 and m = 1

The equations

The equation is derived using: y = mx + c

For Sami's skate

y = 2x + 6

For Brad's skate

y = x + 10

When the cost are the same

To do this, we equate both expressions

i.e.

y = y

2x + 6 = x + 10

2x -x = 10 - 6

x = 4

i.e. the cost are the same at the 4th hour

What is the cost

Substitute 4 for x in any of the equations

y = x + 10

y  = 4 + 10

y  = 14

The cost is $14.00

Can someone answer this question please answer it correctly if it’s corect I will mark you brainliest
umka21 [38]

Answer:

2/9

12.5%, 30% ,45%

Step-by-step explanation:

Possible outcomes

W = wild

S = sandy shores

G = green hills

W6  W7   W10

S6  S7   S10

G6  G7   G10

There are 9 outcomes

2 are over a week without hills (W10 and S10) and

P(10 days not at hills) = # more than 7 days no hills/total

                                               =2/9

We need all the numbers in the same form, I will change to decimal

1/8 = .125

30% = .30

.45

Smallest to largest

.125 <.30 <.45

1/8 < 30% < .45

Changing to percent form

12.5%, 30% ,45%
