<h2>Hello!</h2>

The answer is: B)\sqrt{0.65}

<h2>Why?</h2>

An irrational number is a number which cannot be expressed like a fraction of entire numbers because there is not possible that any fraction can exactly express that number.

Let's discard each option in order to find the irrational number:

A)

1 + \frac{3}{5}=1.6=\frac{8}{5}

So, A, is a rational number.

B)

\sqrt{0.65}=0.806225774829855...

There is not a fraction of entire numbers that can be written to express that number since it have infinite decimals.

C)

\sqrt{144}=12

It's an exact number, so it's a rational number.

D)

\frac{11}{22}=0.5=\frac{1}{2}

It's a rational number since it can be written as a fraction of entire numbers.

Have a nice day!

the answer is b. this is because an irrational number goes on infinity in random digits. so if something is square rooted and not a perfect square it's going to be irrational. square root of 144 is 12 and 11/22 is 1/2 while 1 3/5 is 1.6 and the square root of .65 is .8062257 and so on.

What is the value of 324 + 435 + 546 when written in base 7?
Arada [10]
<span>The sum of 324, 435, and 546 is 1305. If this number were to be expressed by the base of 7, we would need to figure out what value of exponent would satisfy the requirement. This can be done by setting up an equation where 7 to the power of x must equal 1305. Using logarithms, one can solve for x and find it to be 3.6866853. Thus the sum of the aforementioned numbers, expressed in by the base of 7, is 7^3.6866853.</span>

Find number a and k so that x-2 is afactor<br>OF F(x)=x4-2ax tax-<br>X+k and F(-1)=3
Slav-nsk [51]

Question:

Find numbers a and k so that x-2 is a factor of

f(x)=x^4-2ax^3+ax^2- x+k

and

f(-1)=3

Answer:

k = -2 and a=1

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

f(x)=x^4-2ax^3+ax^2- x+k

Factor:\ x - 4

f(-1)=3

Required

Find a and k

For f(-1)=3

Substitute -1 for x

f(x)=x^4-2ax^3+ax^2- x+k

f(-1) = (-1)^4 - 2a *(-1)^3 + a*(-1)^2 - (-1) + k

f(-1) = 1 - 2a *-1 + a*1 +1 + k

f(-1) = 1 +2a + a +1 + k

f(-1) = 2 +3a + k

Substitute 3 for f(-1)

3 = 2 +3a + k

Collect Like Terms

3 - 2 = 3a + k

1 = 3a + k

Also:

If x - 2 is a factor, then

f(2) = 0

Substitute 2 for x and 0 for f(x)

f(x)=x^4-2ax^3+ax^2- x+k

0 = 2^4 - 2a * 2^3 + a * 2^2 - 2 + k

0 = 16 - 2a * 8 + a * 4 - 2 + k

0 = 16 - 16a + 4a - 2 + k

0 = 16 - 12a - 2 + k

Collect Like Terms

2 - 16 = - 12a + k

-14 = k - 12a

k = 12a - 14

Substitute 12a - 14 for k in 1 = 3a + k

1 = 3a + 12a - 14

1 = 15a - 14

Collect Like Terms

15a = 1 + 14

15a = 15

Solve for a

a = \frac{15}{15}

a=1

Substitute 1 for a in k = 12a - 14

k = 12 * 1 - 14

k = 12 - 14

k = -2
