We can cross out president, because the president is obviously elected by the people.

I do know that senators are also elected.

So, that leaves Supreme Court Justices.

Supreme Court Justices are appointed to the office in this manner:

The president chooses someone to become a Justice, and then the Senate approves, so they then can take the office of Justice. If the Senate doesn't approve, then however, they can not take the spot.
