Answer: The correct answer is-

The percentage of the offspring that are expected to be homozygous recessive (qq) is 0 %.

As per the information given in the question, the genotypes of parent are-

Homozygous dominant ( QQ) and a heterozygous ( Qq).

Gametes produced are- QQ parent will produce Q and Q gametes while Qq will produce Q ands q allele.

A dominant allele ( represented by capital letter such as Q) always masks the expression of recessive allele ( represented by small letter such as q)

Homozygous genotye has same alleles whereas heterozygous genotype contains different alleles ( one dominant and one recessive such as Qq).

When the parents are crossed, they will produce 50 % QQ and 50% Qq offsrping but no qq offspring will be produced

Describe the mechanism of blood sugar regulation (20 marks)
dedylja [7]

Answer \: -

Insulin helps the cells absorb glucose, reducing blood sugar and providing the cells with glucose for energy. When blood sugar levels are too low, the pancreas releases glucagon. Glucagon instructs the liver to release stored glucose, which causes blood sugar to rise.

The pancreas releases glucagon when glucose levels fall too low. Glucagon causes the liver to convert stored glycogen into glucose, which is released into the bloodstream. High BG levels stimulate the release of insulin. Insulin allows glucose to be taken up and used by insulin-dependent tissues, such as muscle cells.p

what is a mass extinction? what is a mass extinction? an event that causes the extinction of a large fraction of earth's species
sineoko [7]

A mass extinction event occurs when a species disappears far more quickly than it is replaced. This is typically understood as the loss of around 75% of all species over a "short" period of geological time, or fewer than 2.8 million years.

An enormous number of species were wiped out by a harsh, worldwide, swift, and selective event is mass extinction. According to marine fossils, at least 75% of all species are thought to have become extinct. The most recent mass extinction is the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event, which is also the only one that can be proven to have been caused by a significant asteroid impact. All non-avian dinosaur species, making up about 76 percent of all species on the earth, perished during mass extinction. The Chicxulub asteroid impact in what is now Mexico, which occurred 66 million years ago, caused an ecosystem collapse that resulted in the extinction of the dinosaurs and >75% of all land and sea species as well as the macroevolution of mammals.
