OMG PLEASE HELP ME ASAP!!!!!!! A local charity sponsors a 5K race to raise money. It receives $55 per race entry and $10,000 in

donations, but it must spend $15 per race entry to cover the cost of the race. Write and solve an inequality to determine the number of race entries the charity needs to raise at least $55,000.

Start with how much profit they are making off each race entry. People pay $55 to race, but $15 of that is expenses so they are only profiting $40 for each entry. Now write one side of the equality. They start with $10,000 in donations, and then have a $40 profit for each race entry. So 10,000+40x. X will represent the unknown number of race entries. What do we want that expression to be equal to? We want 10000+40x>55000. It can also be greater than or equal to, not just greater than. Solve for x. Subtract 10000 from each side resulting in 40x>45000. Divide each side by 40 to solve for x. X>1125. X needs to bbe greater than or equal to 1125. If there are 1125 race entries, the charity will profit exactly $55000, so the lowest number of race entries is 1125

dexar [7]

Answer:

The probability that next selection is yellow marble = 63% .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the selection of yellow marbles = 41 times.

The selection of white marble = 24  times.

Total number of selections made = 65

Now calculate the probability that the next selection will be the yellow marble. Therefore, the probability of getting yellow marble can be determined by dividing the yellow selection by total number of selections.

\text{P(yellow)} = \frac{ \text{The selection of yellow marbles} }{ \text{ Total number of slections }} \\\text{P(yellow)} = \frac{41}{65} = 0.63 \ or \ 63 \ percent

The scores on an achievement test are normaly distributed with mean µ = 100 and standard deviation σ = 100. What should the scor
ser-zykov [4K]

Answer:

the student should score atleast 229 to be among the top 10%.

Step-by-step explanation:

in terms of the normal distribution, and if the table that you're using calculates the area of the normal distribution from the mean to a point x, only then what we are actually finding the value 'x' at which the z-score is at 40% (the rest 50% is already skipped by the table)

P(0.4) = \dfrac{x - \mu}{\sigma}

after finding the the value at this z-score, we can find the value of x at which the score is in the top 10% range.

we can find the z-score either using a normal distribution table or calculator. (but be sure what area is it calculating)

looking at the table the closest value we can find is, 0.4015 at z = 1.29 ((it is above 40% because we want to be in the top 10% range)

P(0.4015) = \dfrac{x - 100}{100}

1.29 = \dfrac{x - 100}{100}

x = 1.29(100) + 100

x = 229

the student should score atleast 229 to be among the top 10%.

You drive 15 miles in one fourth of an hour. What is your average speed?
Mazyrski [523]
Hello ! I'm happy to help
the answer all revolves around this simple formula:
speed= distance/time
since you were driving for 1/4 of an hour that's 15 minutes
and we already know that you traveled 15 miles
so the speed would equal 15 miles every 15 minutes
if you want to find the total distance travelled is 15x15 =225
