The length of DE=sqrt((1-4)^2+(4-0)^2)=sqrt(3^2+4^2)=5
In principle, a rhombus has four equal sides, so the perimeter is 4*5=20 (units)

However, to ensure there is no typo, it is advisable to calculate separately the length of each and every side.

In a garden club, 90% i ladie. The number of ladie i 12 more than 3 time the number of gentlemen. How many ladie and how many ge
wariber [46]

In the garden club there are 18 ladies and 2 gentlemen.

Given, In a garden club, 90% is ladies.

The number of ladies is 12 more than 3 times the number of gentlemen.

Let the total members be, x

the number of ladies be, l and the number of gentlemen be, g

according to the question,

l = 90x/100

l = 9x/10

also, l = 12 + 3g

g = (l - 12)/3

as, l + g = x

9x/10 + (9x/10 - 12)/3 = x

9x/10 + 9x/30 - 4 = x

36x/30 - 4 = x

6x/30 = 4

x = 20

so, ladies be, l = 9x/10 = 18

and gentlemen be, g = 20 - 18 = 2

Hence, in the garden club there are 18 ladies and 2 gentlemen.

There are 32 students in a class. Of the class, 3/8 of the students bring their own lunches. How many students bring their lunch
OverLord2011 [107]

Answer:

The number of students that bring their lunches is 12

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x -----> the number of students that bring their lunches

y -----> the total number of students in a class

we know that

The number of students that bring their lunches divided by  the total number of students in a class must be equal to 3/8

\frac{x}{y}=\frac{3}{8}

x=\frac{3}{8}y  -----> equation A

y=32 -----> equation B

substitute the value of y in equation A and solve for x

x=\frac{3}{8}(32)

x=12

therefore

The number of students that bring their lunches is 12

Which statement regarding the diagram is true?
Nuetrik [128]

Find out the statement true regarding the diagram given in the question

Answer

the statement is true regarding the diagram is

m∠WXY + m∠YXZ = 180°

REASON

As shown in the diagram

∠WXY and ∠ YXZ  are supplementary angles.

Supplementary angle definition

 Two Angles are said to be Supplementary when there sum is equal to 180 °.

thus  we get

m∠WXY + m ∠YXZ = 180 °

Therefore the m∠WXY + m∠YXZ = 180° is the true statement.

Could someone help me, please?
k0ka [10]

We can rewrite the expression under the radical as

\dfrac{81}{16}a^8b^{12}c^{16}=\left(\dfrac32a^2b^3c^4\right)^4

then taking the fourth root, we get

\sqrt[4]{\left(\dfrac32a^2b^3c^4\right)^4}=\left|\dfrac32a^2b^3c^4\right|

Why the absolute value? It's for the same reason that

\sqrt{x^2}=|x|

since both (-x)^2 and x^2 return the same number x^2, and |x| captures both possibilities. From here, we have

\left|\dfrac32a^2b^3c^4\right|=\left|\dfrac32\right|\left|a^2\right|\left|b^3\right|\left|c^4\right|

The absolute values disappear on all but the b term because all of \dfrac32, a^2 and c^4 are positive, while b^3 could potentially be negative. So we end up with

\dfrac32a^2\left|b^3\right|c^4=\dfrac32a^2|b|^3c^4
