Answer:

The probability is 53.33%.

Step-by-step explanation:

A model builder has 30 pieces of balsa wood in a box.

4 pieces are 15 inches long.

10 pieces are 12 inches long.

Says rest are 8 inches. So, rest are (30-14=16)

16 pieces are 8 inches long.

Now, we have to tell the probability the builder will pull an 8-inch piece from the box without looking.

The probability is given by=

\frac{number of possible outcomes}{total number of outcomes}

Hence, the probability is : \frac{16}{30} or \frac{8}{15}

If we want this in percentage this is 53.33%.

There is about a 16.5% chance to pull an 8-inch piece, this is theoretical probability though. <span />

12.1.33 Question Help Suppose that 62% of families living in a certain country own an HDTV and 16% own a computer. The Additio
poizon [28]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Suppose :

62% own an HDTV

16% own a computer

Using the addition rule : suggests that (62% + 16%) = 78% either own an HDTV or a computer.

The reasoning is wrong because ; since it is possible to own both an HDTV and also own a computer at the same time, the outcome of the addition rule is wrong as both events are independent. If both event cannot occur at the same time (mutually exclusive event) , then, the addition rule may be applied,. But since both can occur independently and each family can own an HDTV while also owning a computer, then the addition rule is wrong for the scenario described.

What is the equation for exponential growth in Biology?
SpyIntel [72]
The exponential growth in biology is A=Pert, where "A" is the ending amount of whatever you're dealing with , "P" is the beginning amount of that same "whatever", "r" is the growth or decay rate, and "t" is time. The formula is related to the compound-interest formula, and represents the case of the interest being "compounded continuously".

If f(x)=3x+2, find f(f^-1(14))
krek1111 [17]
F(x) = 3x + 2x = 3f-1(x) + 2x - 2 = 3f-1(x)(x - 2)/3 = f-1(x)(14 - 2)/3 = f-1(14)12/3 = f-1(14)4 = f-1(14)   f(f-1(14)) = f(4)f(4) = 3(4) + 2f(4) = 12 + 2f(4) = 14 A function and its inverse are inverse operations, like addition and subtraction. They undo each other. f(f-1(x) = x
