<span>6x + 7y = 11  . . . . (1)
5x + 2y = 13 . . . .  (2)
</span><span>
6x + 7y = 11  (multiply through by 2)  </span>→   12x + 14y = 22   (1^{a})
<span>
5x + 2y = 13  (multiply through by 7)  </span>→   35x + 14y = 91   (2^{a})

    by subtracting (1^{a}) from (2^{a})

   ⇒  (35x + 14y) - (12x + 14y) = 91 - 22
     ⇒      35x - 12x + 14y - 14y = 91 - 22
                                 ⇒      23x = 69
                              ⇒ 23x ÷ 23 = 69 ÷ 23
                                          ∴  x = 3

By substituting found value of x into (2),
          ⇒     5(3)  +  2y  =  13
          ⇒       15  +  2y = 13
          ⇒                 2y = 13 - 15
                              2y = -2
                        ∴      y = -1

Thus the solution to the system is (3 , -1)

BigorU [14]

Answer:

4 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

<h3>Area of rectangle:</h3>

Area = 30 square ft

base = 7.5 ft

          \sf \boxed{height \ of \ rectangle = \dfrac{Area}{base}}

                                             \sf =\dfrac{30}{7.5}\\\\=\dfrac{30*10}{7.5*10}\\\\=\dfrac{300}{75}\\\\= 4 ft

Illusion [34]

Answer: 350km

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we are informed that the scale of map is 1cm : 70km. Therefore, the actual distance between towns that are 5cm apart on the map will be:

= 5 × 70km

= 350km

Therefore, the answer is 350km

How do you find the value of a cylinder
Eduardwww [97]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Like prisms, the volume is found by multiplying the area of one end of the cylinder (base) by its height.

Since the end (base) of a cylinder is a circle, the area of that circle is given by the formula:

area =πr^2

Multiplying by the height h we get

volume =πr^2h

where:

π  is Pi, approximately 3.142

r  is the radius of the circular end of the cylinder

h  height of the cylinder
