6x + 7y = 11  . . . . (1)
5x + 2y = 13 . . . .  (2)

6x + 7y = 11  (multiply through by 2)  →   12x + 14y = 22   (1^{a})

5x + 2y = 13  (multiply through by 7)  →   35x + 14y = 91   (2^{a})

    by subtracting (1^{a}) from (2^{a})

   ⇒  (35x + 14y) - (12x + 14y) = 91 - 22
     ⇒      35x - 12x + 14y - 14y = 91 - 22
                                 ⇒      23x = 69
                              ⇒ 23x ÷ 23 = 69 ÷ 23
                                          ∴  x = 3

By substituting found value of x into (2),
          ⇒     5(3)  +  2y  =  13
          ⇒       15  +  2y = 13
          ⇒                 2y = 13 - 15
                              2y = -2
                        ∴      y = -1

Thus the solution to the system is (3 , -1)

Nathan needs some paint for his bedroom. He finds two cans of white paint, four cans of green paint and three cans of pink paint
horsena [70]

The probability of randomly selecting a can of pink paint is P = 1/3, so the correct option is A.

What is the chance that he will paint his bedroom pink?

Assuming that all the cans of paint have the same probability of being randomly selected, the probability that he will choose a pink can is equal to the quotient between the number of pink cans and the total number of cans.

There are 2 cans of white, 4 cans of green, and 3 cans of pink, so a total of 9 cans.

Then the probability is:

P = 3/9 = 1/3.

The correct option is A.

Mr mehra spends 30% of his income in food 10% on charity 25% and is left with 15750 what is his salary? find his savings
nalin [4]

Answer:

Mr mehra's salary is 26250

Step-by-step explanation:

suppose,

Mr mehra's salary is x

so,

He spends in food = 30% of x

                               =(30/100) . x      [x%=x/100]

                                = 30x/100

                                =3x/10

He spends in charity =10% of x

                                    =10x/100

                                    =x/10

Money left = 15750

so,

x = 3x/10 + x/10 +  15750

⇒x - 3x/10 - x/10 = 15750

⇒(10x-3x-x) /10 = 15750

⇒6x/10 = 15750

⇒6x=157500

⇒x = 157500/6

⇒x = 26250

∴Mr mehra's salary is 26250
