First we find the number of boxes we need to buy 180 pens.

# of boxes = Total # of pens needed ÷ # of pens per box

# of boxes = 180 ÷ 12

# of boxes = 15

Cost of 180 pens = # of boxes x cost per box.

We know there are 15 boxes and each box costs $5.80

Therefore,

Cost of 180 pens = 15 x $5.80
Cost of 180 pens = $87

Consider the set T = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}. Let R = {(a, b) | a divides b} be a relation on the set T. Identify the missing ordered
serg [7]

Answer:  The missing ordered pairs are  (2, 2), (2, 4), (2, 6), (3, 3) and (3, 6).

Step-by-step explanation:  We are given the following set :

T = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}.

And, R = {(a, b) | a divides b} be a relation on the set T.

We are to identify the missing pairs from the following list of all ordered pairs in the given relation R on the set T :

{(1, 1), (1, 2), (1, 3), (1, 4), (1, 5), (1, 6), _____, (4, 4), (5, 5), and (6, 6).}.

Since R contains the ordered pairs (a, b) such that a divides b, so all the ordered pairs in R are

(1, 1), (1, 2), (1, 3), (1, 4), (1, 5), (1, 6), (2, 2), (2, 4), (2, 6), (3, 3), (3, 6), (4, 4), (5, 5), and (6, 6).

Thus, the missing ordered pairs are  (2, 2), (2, 4), (2, 6), (3, 3) and (3, 6).

A train travels 58 kilometers in 4 hours, and then 80 kilometers in 4 hours. What is its average speed?
Olegator [25]
Average speed  =

(total distance covered) / (time to cover the distance).

Total distance covered = (58km + 80km) =  138 km

Time to cover the distance = (4hr + 4hr) =  8 hours

Average speed  =  138km / 8hr  =  17.25 km/hour .

(That's less than 11 mph.  You could bike there faster!)
