Average speed  =

                 (total distance covered) / (time to cover the distance).

Total distance covered = (58km + 80km) =  138 km

Time to cover the distance = (4hr + 4hr) =  8 hours

Average speed  =  138km / 8hr  =  17.25 km/hour .

(That's less than 11 mph.  You could bike there faster!)

What is the standard form equation of the line shown below? Graph of a line going through negative 2, 3 and 1, negative 3
V125BC [204]

Answer:

3. 2x + y = −1

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the equation of the line, we write it first in the slope-intercept form:

y=mx+q

where

m is the slope

q is the y-intercept

From the graph, we see that the line crosses the y-axis at y = -1, so the y-intercept is -1:

q=-1

Now we have to find the slope, by calculating the rate of change of the line through 2 points:

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Taking the two points at (-2,3) and (1,-3), we find:

m=\frac{-3-3}{1-(-2)}=\frac{-6}{3}=-2

So the equation of the line is

y=-2x-1

Now we have to re-arrange it in the standard form, so in the form

ax+bx=c

where a, b and c are integer numbers.

To do that, we simply add +2x on both sides of the equation of the line in the slope-intercept form, and we get:

y+2x=-1

So, option 3).

Match the following definition to the term.
Umnica [9.8K]
We are asked to describe into one term the definition "procedure for selecting sample elements from a total set of observations." The answer is sampling method. Sampling method is a method used by researchers to evaluate a large size of correspondents or samples such that the representive sample is still considered.

A person runs 1 4/5 miles in 1/5 of an hour. Determine how many miles they are running per hour
Mashcka [7]

Answer: 9 miles per hour.

Step-by-step explanation:

In 1 hour they would run (1 4/5)/(1/5) = (9/5)*5 = 9 hours. So, they are running 9 miles per hour.
