Anchovies are the small, salty fishes that are found in all the parts of the ocean. They are more commonly found to occur in the temperate water. These fishes were present in a significantly high amount in the off coast area in Peru but have considerably decreased due to the over-harvesting by human beings.
The humans have exploited these fishes for a long time. Fishermen have captured them at a much higher rate affecting the total population of these anchovies. In addition to this, these anchovies also depleted due to the effect of 'El Nino' that occurs in the Pacific ocean.
