Answer:     3 x n -10 = n + 4

Step-by-step explanation:

n is your number,

3 times a number is 3 x n;

10 less than 3 times a number is 3 x n - 10

same means equality, we will use "="sign

3 x n - 10 = ...

n is your number

Create a word problem that involves speed
lana66690 [7]

A hockey puck is sliding on frictionless ice on an infinite hockey rink.
Its speed is 36 km/hour.  How far does the puck slide in 10 seconds ?

 (36 km/hr) x (1,000 m/km) x (1 hr/3600 sec) x (10sec) =

         (36 x 1,000 x 10 / 3,600) meters  =  <em>100 meters</em>

What is the puck's speed in miles per hour ?

        (36 km/hr) x (0.6214 mi/km)  =  <em>22.37 mi/hr</em>

4/7 - x = 6/35 what is x? how do I determine the answer?
vivado [14]
4/7 - x = 6/35

You're trying to get x by itself, so you have to subtract 4/7 from both sides.

-x = 6/35 - 4/7

You need both of the fractions to the right of the equal sign to have the same denominator so that we could simplify them, so multiply 5/5 to -4/7.

-4 /7 × 5/5 = -20/35

So, our new equation is :

-x = 6/35 - 20/35

Simplify.

-x = -14/35

Divide both sides by -1.

x = 14/35

Divide by 7.

x = 2/5

~Hope I helped!~

A family is driving from Phoenix to San Francisco. On a map grid, Phoenix is located at (–12, –16), and San Francisco is located
makkiz [27]
The answer is 34.05

The total distance (D) is the sum of three distances (d1, d2, and d3).

The distance formula is d = \sqrt{(x2-x1)^{2} +(y2-y1)^{2}}

Distance 1: Phoenix (–12, –16) to Blythe (–20, –9)<span>:
</span>d1 = \sqrt{(-20-(-12))^{2} +(-9-(-16))^{2}} =\sqrt{(-20+12)^{2} +(-9+16)^{2}} \\ =\sqrt{(-8)^{2} +(7)^{2}}= \sqrt{64+49} = \sqrt{113}= 10.63

Distance 2: Blythe (–20, –9) to Los Angeles (–33, –4):
d2 = \sqrt{(-33-(-20))^{2} +(-4-(-9))^{2}} =\sqrt{(-33+20)^{2} +(-4+9)^{2}} \\ =\sqrt{(-13)^{2} +(5)^{2}}= \sqrt{169+25} = \sqrt{194}= 13.93

Distance 3: Los Angeles (–33, –4) to <span>San Francisco (–36, 5)
</span>d3 = \sqrt{(-36-(-33))^{2} +(5-(-4))^{2}} =\sqrt{(-36+33)^{2} +(5+4)^{2}} \\ =\sqrt{(-3)^{2} +(9)^{2}}= \sqrt{9+81} = \sqrt{90}= 9.49
<span>
D = d1 + d2 + d3 = 10.63 + 13.93 + 9.49 = 34.05</span>
