Read the paragraph from History of the United States, by Charles and Mary Beard.
Hatshy [7]

Answer:

A). The new immigrants met different conditions when they arrived. Because most found work in factories, they tended to settle in cities, where they lived in crowded neighborhoods with others from their home countries.

Explanation:

The given paragraph would be considered biased as it involves the author's personal remark over opinions(as reflected by the use of descriptive words like 'diverted', 'preserved', 'crowded', etc.).

As per the question, option A best summarizes the paragraph objectively as it aims to factually and logically describe the events without inclusion of personal opinions, thoughts, or emotions while relating the events. Therefore, option A is the correct answer.

Byrd points to the benefits of lobbyists in his speech when he says that Congress workers would not be able to "adequately consider our workload without them," as lobbyists are representatives of all different types of groups. At the same time, he clearly indicates that lobbyists should be "carefully monitored" when he outlines the "need for eternal vigilance," or the need for constant observance of lobbyists.
