Explanation:

Blended sentencing refers to the sentencing program which is imposed to the serious juvenile criminals. Blended sentence ensures that the youth serves in corrective facilities with moral conduct and if he completes it successfully, he may be granted an appeal for revoking the adult sentence.  

But if he does not prove his good conduct while serving, he may be again arrested and will be put in an adult prison. This blended sentence thus provides opportunity for the juvenile criminals to correct themselves and get freed from some serious sentences by the court.
