In the interior of continents the earth's crust is typically about 40km thick and the elevation is near sea level. Most earth ma

terials expand when heated, lowering their density. During rifting continental margins are heated but cool as sea floor spreading moves offshore from the continent. Thus, basic isostasy suggests that after rifting, a continental margin will ________. rise slowly as erosion removes uplifted rocks uplift remain near sea level subside

Answer:

Move vertically to maintain a balanced crust.

Explanation:

Isostasy is a natural process of adjustment of balance maintained by blocks of crusts of different thickness. So after rifting, the blocks will rise and drop following a line that equals the sea level. This allows to keep a balance and maintain the continental margins on place.

Answer:

Subside

Explanation:

New York's continental boundary consists of a dense series of mostly shallow-water sediments of at least 4.8 km.

The impact of sediment loading alone can not create these large thicknesses of shallow-water sediments.

COST B-2 biostratigraphic information was used to analyze the source of this margin's subsidence.

The sediment loading contribution to the subsidence was measured and eliminated. Corrections were also included for consequences of compaction, water depth and sea level shifts.

The remaining subsidence for the cooling lithosphere was interpreted as a basic thermal template.

In ancient Egypt, how was the authority of the pharaoh enhanced through the religious beliefs of
uranmaximum [27]

Answer:

Ancient Egyptian religion was a complex system of polytheistic beliefs and rituals that formed an integral part of ancient Egyptian society. It centered on the Egyptians' interactions with many deities believed to be present in, and in control of, the world. Rituals such as prayer and offerings were provided to the gods to gain their favor. Formal religious practice centered on the pharaohs, the rulers of Egypt, believed to possess divine powers by virtue of their positions. They acted as intermediaries between their people and the gods, and were obligated to sustain the gods through rituals and offerings so that they could maintain Ma'at, the order of the cosmos. The state dedicated enormous resources to religious rituals and to the construction of temples.

"Population is an asset rather than liability comment ?
Readme [11.4K]
It depends On my what aspect you're looking at it from. According to the theories of population growth and resources, Malthus theory states that population growth will cause resources to deplete to a point where resources (earths carrying capacity) are unable to support the population resulting in the Malthusian crisis. When the crisis happens, there will be positive checks in place such as droughts an famines to lower the population until a sustainable number for resource usage. This is supported by many Neo Malthusian theories aka modern interpretations but one main fact is that this was said in the 18 century and back then it was simply an agrarian society.

Hence there was boserup's theory which was based on necessity is the Mother of invention ( I think I got this quote wrong) and that basically when population growth increase there will be more technology and improvements to society to increase resources available for usage. Which is largely supported by the high dependence on agriculture in agriculture and technological advancements over the years such as the green revolution and industrial revolution,

Ultimately I support Malthusian theory as it makes sense that no matter what, population will always be a liability in terms of resource usage.
