Explanation:

  1. Light energy is absorbed and transferred to the reaction center.
  2. A water molecule is split.
  3. Electrons are transferred from photosystem II to photosystem I.
  4. ATP is synthesized from ADP and inorganic phosphate.

Further Explanation:

Photosynthesis is a chemical pathway that’s integral to producing energy in plants and other primary producers. Energy in the form of molecules of glucose is produced from light, water and carbon dioxide while oxygen is released. This occurs in several complex steps, photosynthesis is a rate limited reaction, depends on several factors including carbon dioxide concentration, ambient temperature and light intensity; the energy is retrieved from photons, I.e. particles of light, and water is used as a reducing agent. This occurs in the thykaloids, where pigment molecules like chlorophyll reside.

The chloroplast is a membrane bound organelle found in plants. It contains several invaginations of  a plasma membrane called the thylakoid membrane. This contains chlorophyll pigments, in stacks called granum, while the internal spaces of the organelle are called the lumen. Liquid surrounds the granum, forming the stroma.

During the light reaction:

  • Light is absorbed by pigments in phosystem II (PSII). This energy is transferred among pigments til it gets to the reaction center, and is transferred to P680; this promotes an electron to a higher energy level where it then goes to an acceptor molecule.
  • Water supplies the chlorophyll in plant cell with replacement electrons for the ones removed from photosystem II. Additionally, water (H2O) split by light during photolysis into H+ and OH- acts as a source of oxygen along with functioning as a reducing agent.
  • the electron moves down an electron transport chain (ti PS I)where it experiences continuous energy loss. This energy fuels the pumping of H+ from the stroma to thykaloid, leading to the formation of a gradient. The H+ move along their gradient and cross through ATP synthase, into the the stroma.
  • ATP synthase converts ADP and Pi to the energy storage molecule  ATP.
  • The electron gets to photosystem I where it  goes to pigments at P700. It absorbs light energy, the electron is promoted to a higher energy level, and passed to an electron acceptor. This leaves a space for another electron which is then replaced by one from photosystem II.
  • in the ETC,  the molecule NADP is reduced to NADPH by providing H+ ions. NADP and NADPH are integral to the Calvin cycle where monosaccharides or sugars like glucose are produced after the modification of several molecules.

1. Explain why it can be useful for you and your doctors to know your family’s medical history, including information about pare
notsponge [240]

1. Knowing our family’s medical history can be useful for us and our doctors because it can help to check the possibility of occurrence of genetic disorders.  Genetic disorders are passed on through several generations. Diseases like hemophilia and color blindness are some examples.

2. Contaminated water can negatively affect the health of an individual as well as a community. Pathogens contained in contaminated water causes several diseases. Diseases like cholera and typhoid are examples of water-borne diseases.

The bacterium that causes typhoid is Salmonella typhi and the pathogen that causes cholera is the bacterium Vibrio cholera. The consumption of water contaminated by the feces of a person infected with cholera cause the spreading of disease to a healthy person. Contaminated water and poor sanitation is the cause of typhoid spread as well.

3. Two types of drugs are stimulants and hallucinogens. Stimulants increase the alertness of the person who uses it and increases the heart rate, blood pumping rate and blood glucose levels. Cocaine is an example of stimulant drug.

Stimulant abuse can lead to anxiety, paranoia, depression etc. hallucinogens disconnect the link to the brain and users experience unstable and rapid emotions and have hallucinating visions.LSD is an example of hallucinogen. Hallucinogen abuse can cause cognition distortions, paranoia, anxiety etc.

Which organisms demonstrate the well-developed social behavior called eusocial?
Vesna [10]

Answer:

1. Ants, termites, and bees

Explanation:

Eusocial societies are common in insects. This type of behaviour is characterized by the fact that individuals fall into certain groups with certain behaviours. For example, think of worker bees and the queen bee. These societies are associated with a few features:

  • the offspring are cared for by individuals other than the parents -many members in the group can cooperate to take care of the young.
  • labour is divided into reproductive and non-reproductive groups. Only the reproductive individuals are able to have offspring, the others help with parental care, gathering food, and maintaining shelter.
  • this creates groups, sometimes called 'castes', that animals fall into. They do not deviate from these groups once they are established.

Silver sulfadiazine is prescribed for a client with a burn injury. Which laboratory finding requires the need for follow-up by t
Lunna [17]

Answer:

The options

1. Glucose level of 99 mg/dL

2. Magnesium level of 1.5 mEq/L

3. Platelet level of 300,000

4. White blood cell count of 3000

The CORRECT ANSWER IS 4.

4. White blood cell count of 3000

Explanation:

Silver sulfadiazine is employed in the dressing of burn injuries. Adverse effects of this medication are noticeably rash and itching, blue green or gray skin distortion in colour, leukopenia, and interstitial nephritis.

The nurse should carefully analyse the client whole blood count, specifically the white blood cells, more often for the client who is kept under this medication.

If leukopenia progresses or is being diagnosed, the healthcare provider is alerted of the development and the medication is mostly stopped.

The white blood cell count brought in an indication of leukopenia.

IThet us important to note that the rest laboratory parameters given are not in certainty to the particular medication, and can be seen to be in the normal limits.
