1 ton is equivalent to 2000 pounds

we have to find how many pounds 3 3/8 tons are equal to

if 1 ton --> 2000 pounds

we can break down the fraction into 3 + 3/8

then 3 tons --> 2000 x 3 = 6000 pounds

3/8 ton ---> 2000 x 3/8 = \frac{3*2000}{8} = \frac{6000}{8} = 750 pounds

after adding 6000 + 750 = 6750 pounds

answer is 6750 pounds

1 ton = 2000 pounds

so 3 3/8 tons = 2000 x 3 3/8

= 6750 pounds

So 3 3/8 tons = <em><u>6750 pounds</u></em>

Which formula shows a joint variation?
djyliett [7]

The answer is the first option: I, II and III.

The explanation is shown below:

1. By definition, there is a joint variation  when a variable depends on two or more different variables. Therefore, you can express it as following:

y=kxz

Where x,y and z are the variables and k is the constant of proportionality.

As you can see, y is directly proportional to x and z.

2. Keeping the information above, you have:

I) V=lwh (V varies jointly with l, w and h.

II) V=\frac{1}{3}r^{2}h\pi (If \frac{\pi}{3} is the constant of proportionality, V varies jointly with r^{2} and h).

III) V=Bh (V varies jointly with B and h.

2 students must be chosen.
No repetition, no order

This is a combinations problem. We use this formula: n! / (n-r)!(r!)

n = 15 ; r = 2

15! / (15-2)!(r!) ⇒ 15! / 13! * 2! = 105

Which is the equation of a line that is perpendicular to 6x – 4y = 9?
natulia [17]

6x – 4y = 9

4y = 6x - 9

y = 6/4 x - 9/4

y = 3/2 x - 9/4 this line has slope = 3/2

perpendicular line, slope is opposite and reciprocal so slope of this line = -2/3

answer:

A. y= - 2/3 x - 4 (only this line has slope = -2/3)
