1.) It's best to have two pair of eyes for an experiment. Meaning one person to watch the chemicals while you're writing things down - especially if they're dangerous if mixed together. Basically it's best to take turns!
2.) They may have different results than you if you're in a lab - and it's always best to work together to get the job done! You can get the job done faster and more effectively if you work together! (:

Answer:

Cells need oxygen and glucose.

Without oxygen, electron transport chain cannot take place and the cells cannot get the energy they need (since the cell uses oxygen to break down glucose which os what produces energy). When the cells cannot perform their function, they die.
