Chemistry

Density is how much matter is packed into a certain substance. So it's a measure of how tightly packed particles are. If particles are tightly packed, they will be more dense and if they're loosely packed they will be less dense. Normally, something solid will be more dense than something liquid. So density is how much matter there is a certain amount of space or volume.

A total of 20.0 mL of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) was neutralized by 30.0 mL of 0.250 M hydrogen bromide (HBr). What was the concent
Karolina [17]

Answer:

0.375 M

Explanation:

NaOH(aq) + HBr(aq) ------------> NaBr(aq) + H2O(l)

Concetration of acid CA= 0.250M

Concentration of base CB= ????

Volume of acid VA= 30.0mL

Volume of base VB= 20.0mL

Number of moles of acid nA= 1

Number of moles of base nB= 1

CA VA/CB VB= nA/nB

CB= CAVAnB/VB nA

= 0.25× 30×1/20×1= 0.375 M

When vinegar is added to some marble chips ( calcium carbonate) bubbles of gas are observed, what gas is produced and how can it
Scrat [10]

Answer:

By passing the gas through lime water

Explanation:

The equation of the reaction of vinegar with  calcium carbonate in the form of marble chips is shown below;

CaCO3(s) + 2CH3COOH(aq) ---------> Ca(CH3COO)2(aq) + H2O(l) + CO2(g).

We can see from the reaction equation that the gas produced is carbon dioxide. This gas is identified by passing the gas through lime water. If lime water turns milky, then the gas is truly carbon dioxide.

What crystallizes and settles out of a solution to form chemical sediments
Ugo [173]

Minerals

Explanation:

Minerals in solution crystallizes and settles out of a solution. Chemical sediments are products of chemical weathering of rocks.

  • During chemical weathering, pre-existing rock materials are decomposed.
  • These materials are then carried as dissolved loads during erosion and transportation.
  • When these minerals come in contact with favorable environment, they precipitate out and forms chemical sediments.
  • Examples of rocks that results from chemical sediments are rock salt, evaporites, dolomite e.t.c
