Answer:

C. the starvation of up to 35 million people.

Explanation:

Collectivization was first introduced in the USSR by Joseph Stalin between 1929-1933 and his purpose for starting this process was to limit the powers of the Kulaks, who were the rich peasants. The program was also aimed at improving agriculture. China adopted this same policy under the rule of Mao Zedong between 1949-1976. Also known as The Great Leap Forward era, this process sought to make China a socialist economy and also increase productivity in agriculture.

The resultant effect of this process was mass starvation of about 35 million people in 1959. Although the government referred to floods and droughts as the cause of this starvation, it was actually the result of collectivization. When Diang Xiaping came into power in 1978, he instituted reforms in the collectivization process that proved successful.

SVEN [57.7K]

Answer and Explanation:

The computation of receivables turnover ratio and average collection period for Sun Health and Select Medical is shown below:-

For Sun health

Accounts Receivables Turnover Ratio = Net Sales ÷ Average Accounts Receivables

= Net Sales ÷ ((Accounts Receivables at the beginning + Accounts Receivables at the end) ÷ 2)

= $3,630 ÷ (($300 + $287) ÷ 2)

= $3,630 ÷ 293.5

= 12.4 times

Average Collection Period = Number of days in a year ÷ Accounts Receivables Turnover Ratio

= 365 ÷ 12.37 times

= 29.5 days

For Sun medical

Accounts Receivables Turnover Ratio = Net Sales ÷ Average Accounts Receivables

= Net Sales ÷ ((Accounts Receivables at the beginning + Accounts Receivables at the end) ÷ 2)

= $3,940 ÷ (($499 + $438) ÷ 2)

= $3,940 ÷ 468.5

= 8.4 times

Average Collection Period = Number of days in a year ÷ Accounts Receivables Turnover Ratio

= 365 ÷ 8.41 times

= 43.4 days

Salt Company is considering investing in a new facility to extract and produce salt. The facility will increase revenues by $220
e-lub [12.9K]

Answer:

12%

Explanation:

Annual net income:

= Increase in annual revenue - Increase in annual costs

= $220,000 - $160,000

= $60,000

Average investment:

= (Initial investment + Salvage value at the end) ÷ 2

= (980,000 + 20,000) ÷ 2

= $500,000

Annual rate of return:

= (Annual net income ÷ Average investment) × 100

= ($60,000 ÷ $500,000) × 100

= 12%
