Answer:

b) 200 square inches

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of a pentagon: A = 1/2 * 5(side)(apothem).

  • side: b = 10in
  • apothem: a = 8 in

A = 1/2 * 5(side)(apothem).

A = 1/2 * 5(10)(8).

A = 1/2 * 5(80).

A = 1/2 * 400

A = 200 square inches

a gymnasium is 88 feet long and 76 wide on a blueprint the gymnasium is 5.5 inches long what is the width of the gymnasium on th
attashe74 [19]

First we would need to find the portion of the gymnasium to the blueprint to do that please do this:

88/5.5 = 16

The length divided by the blueprint's length

Since we know that the gymnasium is 16 times the blueprint, to find the width divide 16 to 76:

76/16 = 4.75

The width divided by the 16 times

The width of the blueprint is 4.75 inches

The two linear equations in two variable is:

12 x + 3 y = 40

7 x - 4 y = 38

(a) For a system of equations in two Variable

a x + by = c

p x + q y = r

It will have unique solution , when

\frac{a}{p}\neq \frac{b}{q}\neq\frac{c}{r}

As, you can see  that in the two equation Provided above

\frac{12}{7}\neq \frac{3}{-4}\neq \frac{40}{38}

So, we can say the system of equation given here has unique solution.

(b). If point (2.5, -3.4) satisfies both the equations, then it will be solution of the system of equation, otherwise not.

1. 12 x+3 y=40

2. 7 x-4 y=38

Substituting , x= 2.5 , and y= -3.4 in equation (1) and (2),

L.H.S of Equation (1)= 1 2 × 2.5 + 3 × (-3.4)

                             = 30 -10.20

                               = 19.80≠ R.H.S that is 40.

Similarly, L H S of equation (2)= 7 × (2.5) - 4 × (-3.4)

                                                  = 17.5 +13.6

                                                  = 31.1≠R HS that is 38

So, you can Write with 100 % confidence that point (2.5, -3.4) is not a solution of  this system of the equation.

he nutrition label for Oriental Spice Sauce states that one package of sauce has 1100 milligrams of sodium. To determine if the
MrRissso [65]

Answer:

The 99% confidence interval for the mean sodium content in Oriental Spice Sauce is between 454.67 milligrams and 1722.61 milligrams

Step-by-step explanation:

We have the standard deviation for the sample, so we use the t-distribution to solve this question.

The first step to solve this problem is finding how many degrees of freedom, we have. This is the sample size subtracted by 1. So

df = 40 - 1 = 39

99% confidence interval

Now, we have to find a value of T, which is found looking at the t table, with 39 degrees of freedom(y-axis) and a confidence level of 1 - \frac{1 - 0.99}{2} = 0.995. So we have T = 2.7079

The margin of error is:

M = T*s = 2.7079*234.12 = 633.97

In which s is the standard deviation of the sample.

The lower end of the interval is the sample mean subtracted by M. So it is 1088.64 - 633.97 = 454.67 milligrams

The upper end of the interval is the sample mean added to M. So it is 1088.64 + 633.97 = 1722.61 milligrams

The 99% confidence interval for the mean sodium content in Oriental Spice Sauce is between 454.67 milligrams and 1722.61 milligrams
