Answer:

Ultraviolet light has a longer wavelength than X & Gamma rays but a shorter wavelength than Visible light & Infrared rays.

Explanation:

The Electromagnetic spectrum consists of 7 types of radiations including

1. radio waves (longest wavelength) (lowest frequency)

2. Microwaves

3. Infrared

4. Visible light

5. Ultraviolet

6. X rays

7. Gamma rays (shortest wavelength) (highest frequency)

Wavelength:

Wavelength is measured as the distance or length between the two consecutive peaks of a wave.

A Radio wave has the longest wavelength and a Gamma ray has shortest wavelength.

Although Sun emits a variety of electromagnetic waves but most of them consists of Ultraviolet, Visible and Infrared rays, in-fact it is being argued that these three types constitute 99% of the waves.

Ultraviolet light has a longer wavelength than X & Gamma rays but a shorter wavelength than Visible light & Infrared rays.

The relation between wavelength and frequency of electromagnetic radiation is given by

λ = c/f

Where c is the speed of light and is constant then the wavelength and frequency are inversely proportional.

Fun Fact:

Humans are only able to see those radiations which has wavelength in the range of 400 nm to 9000 nm. This is the reason, radiation in this range are called visible rays and they are just a tiny part of the whole electromagnetic spectrum.

14. How many grams of NaCl are contained in 0.350 kg of a
Lyrx [107]

Answer:

4.87g

Explanation:

Step 1:

Data obtained from the question. This includes the following:

Mass of solution = 0.35kg

Molality = 0.238 m

Mass of NaCl =..?

Step 2:

Determination of the number of mole of NaCl in the solution.

Molality of a solution is simply defined as the mole of solute per unit kg of the solvent. It is given as:

Molality = mol of solute /mass of solvent (kg)

With the above formula, we calculate the mole of NaCl present in the solution as follow:

Molality = mol of solute /mass of solvent (kg)

0.238 = mol of NaCl /0.35

Cross multiply

mol of NaCl = 0.238 x 0.35

mol of NaCl = 0.0833 mol

Step 3:

Determination of the mass of NaCl in 0.0833 mol of NaCl.

This is illustrated below:

Number of mole NaCl = 0.0833 mol

Molar Mass of NaCl = 23 + 35.5 = 58.5g/mol

Mass of NaCl =..?

Mass = number of mole x molar Mass

Mass of NaCl = 0.0833 x 58.5

Mass of NaCl = 4.87g

Therefore, 4.87g of NaCl is contained in the solution.

Magnesium oxide forms from magnesium metal and oxygen gas O2. Write a word equation and an unbalanced formula including physical
sergiy2304 [10]

Answer:

See explanation

Explanation:

The word equation is just a statement of the reaction in words as follows;

Magnesium oxide ----> Magnesium metal + oxygen gas

An unbalanced stoichiometric equation doesn't have equal number of atoms of each element on both sides.

Hence the unbalanced stoichiometric equation is as follows;

MgO(s) -----> Mg(s) + O2(g)

What is the function of alloying elements (e.g., cr, v, w, and mo) in tool steels?
trasher [3.6K]

Answer:

An alloy is the combination of metals homogeneously.

Explanation:

Alloys can also include other elements in combination with metals e.g carbon and Iron forms steel.

Alloys find a host of application in various industries and domestic use.

Alloying of metals helps to improve the physical and chemical properties of such materials better.

Some materials are alloyed to improve their strength.

Alloying can help heat and electrical conduction of a substance.

Alloys can greatly prevent rusting and produce corrosion resistant metals.

Alloys can provide a better means for a material to be worked.

Alloys can be more durable than original materials.
